Karrah Herring was appointed by the 51st Governor of Indiana, Governor Eric Holcomb, in November of 2020 to serve on his cabinet as Indiana’s first-ever Chief Equity, Inclusion and Opportunity Officer for the state. Prior to that role she worked for the University of Notre Dame for just shy of a decade, directing the University in the areas of workplace compliance, public affairs, strategic partnerships and workplace culture enhancement.
Karrah is a public relations and workplace culture expert whose 15-year career spans higher education, corporate and state government. Herring travels across the globe leading seminars, serving as a keynote speaker and helping organizations and individuals take their culture and careers to higher heights.
A graduate of Purdue University and Valparaiso University School of Law, Herring has received a number of awards recognizing her service to Indiana and beyond. More than anything she wants people to know she is focused on faith, family and service to others. She strives daily to contribute to the expansion of common good via civility, empathy and kindness.
